Please read over these rules if you're new here. It would break my heart to discipline a newcomer, but I will if I have to. Spam -Spam (Stupid Pointless Annoying Messages) will not be tolerated. This is a joke forum, but it’s not a spam room. Stay on topic with whatever you’re discussing. A little digression is acceptable, but don’t completely derail a topic. Also, saying hello/goodbye in a topic will be marked as spam. Double-posting is also not acceptable, unless it’s in a bump (you can bump Lawlz threads once every 36 hours) Flaming/Insults/Disrespect -We expect you to respect your fellow members, as well as the staff. In return, the staff will give you respect. Do not insult members or staff. If you have a problem with a member or staff, send a PM to an admin. -This being a joke forum, some jokes that may be offensive to certain groups may arise. I understand that some people may take offense to these jokes. However, we ask that you not report a joke. Instead, ignore it. However, if a “joke” turns into hatred based on race, religion, sexual orientation, etc., report it. While we may tolerate jokes, we will NOT tolerate hate. -Obey the staff. If you feel that a staff member is abusing their power or is being unfair, report it to an administrator. Otherwise, listen to the staff. Their job is to keep order, and they’d appreciate it if the members could work with them to keep things from getting out of hand. Pornography/Inappropriate content -Pornography will NOT be tolerated. Not only is it inappropriate for a forum, it is against Zeta-Boards’s Terms of Service. Also, any pictures deemed inappropriate will result in punishment. -Innuendos and sexual remarks are inevitable and acceptable, as long as they don’t go into too much detail. Illegal content -Illegal content (such as hacking, Warez, etc.) will not be tolerated. -Referencing illegal content in a post is acceptable, as long as you don’t provide any links or in any way enable illegal activity. Advertising -Do not post a thread or make a post strictly to advertise. Also, do not link to another site in your post unless it contributes to the topic (and no, posting a link to your forum in your intro post does NOT count as contributing. You can give the name without the link and be fine.) -Do not send a Private Message asking another member to join your forum -You are allowed to advertise in your signature, as long as the site you’re advertising is NOT a ripoff of the LC or illegal. -Adbots will not be tolerated. -If you send a PM to solicit members, your PM'ing privileges will temporarily be stripped. Continuing solicitation will result in an increase in warning level. Report System -ZetaBoards provides us with a handy report system. If you see another member violating the rules, please report them to the staff so that we can take care of the problem. Though it will usually be obvious what the problem is, we ask that you give a reason for your report, explaining exactly which rule has been violated. -Do NOT use the report system unless there is a true violation of the rules. The staff does not need to spend time chasing joke reports. Also, do not use the system to ask us to delete a post. If you would like a post you made deleted, PM an administrator. -Do NOT try and moderate yourself. This is commonly referred to as "mini-modding", and we don't tolerate it. If you see a violation, report it instead of trying to fix it yourself. Discipline -The staff will tend to each offense as it deems necessary. -Minor offenses will be dealt with through a PM explaining what rule has been violated. -More serious offenses and repeated offenses will be dealt with through an infraction. -Extreme offenses will result in a temporary ban (if it only happens once) -Repeated extreme offenses, widespread extreme offenses (such as porn-spamming) and adbots/spambots will result in a permanent ban. -If disciplinary action is taken against you, and you feel that the staff was being unfair, PM the staff member that took action and explain to them why you felt that their action was unfair. If they refuse to listen and cannot explain the action to your satisfation, PM an administrator and include the entire conversation. These rules should be reasonable enough. However, if you think anything should be added or changed, PM me or send me an AIM message at MrLawltastc, and I'll be happy to consider it.
